The Connection
Santex is part of a broader ecosystem: ethical AI, purpose-driven technology, and partnerships that multiply impact.
Juan Santiago
Founder & CEO, Santex
A community is more than the sum of its individuals; it is a network that grows stronger as its nodes connect. We view ourselves in the same light: as part of a larger ecosystem. We are not merely a company that sells technology, but a living platform defined by interdependencies and, therefore, responsibilities.
The conviction we uphold internally — that human judgment must always guide technology — is meaningless if we don’t communicate it externally. That’s why we actively share our message, foster collaborative learning, challenge our own perspectives, and broaden access to technology.
This chapter explores these vital connections: the links between the public and private sectors, with universities, and with communities across Argentina and Latin America. It also examines how Santex intervenes to empower these groups by adding value.
Being where the future is defined
When artificial intelligence evolves faster than regulation, the most critical risks become political and social. We have to ask ourselves: who decides how this technology is used? Who is providing the oversight? Who gets left behind, and who stands to benefit in the long run?
These questions are exactly why we show up. They drive us to engage in a wide range of conversations. In some cases, we find common ground; in others, we face total opposition. But these dialogues are essential if we want to drive the kind of global change we believe in.
Let's get straight to the point: the underlying goal is for Latin America to have sovereignty over its data. Today, there are virtually no regional regulatory frameworks to guarantee this. Decisions regarding how the information of millions of Latin Americans is stored, processed, and monetized are largely made outside the region. Changing this requires having a seat at the table where the rules are written, such as in public-private partnerships where critical decisions are being made.
Throughout the year, we participated in more than 20 of these spaces: from the Argentine National Congress and the OAS to NVIDIA's GTC 2025, and from local parliaments to international internet governance forums.
In every instance, our goal remained the same: to place human-centric AI that truly empowers people on the agenda of those defining tech policies.
